LSP Technologies (LSPT) is the international leader in the design, development, and implementation of laser-based solutions for metallic component life extension. We continue to grow and are looking for a strong Technical Service Engineer to join our team. The Technical Service Engineer (TSE) interfaces closely with our customers and our technical team to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction.


Responsibilities and Duties:


  • Focus on customer satisfaction, serving as the “face of LSPT” as we continue to grow supported by delighted customers.

  • Provide installation services, startup support, and operator training for LSPT Equipment worldwide.

  • Resolve customer issues and apply critical thinking in order to determine the appropriate action to repair systems and equipment.

  • Serve as a critical liaison between our customers and our engineering team in the resolution of field issues and by providing critical inputs from the field that drive the evolution of the product line.

Key Competencies:

The Technical Service Engineer should demonstrate competence in all of the following:

Plan: Develop work plans and execute while onsite in order to complete the work efficiently and accurately.

Solve Problems: Assess technical situations to identify causes, gather and process relevant information, generate possible solutions, make recommendations, and/or resolve the problem.

Build Relationships: Establish and maintain positive working relationships with others, both internally and externally, to achieve the goals of LSPT. This role will have both internal and external relationships that will influence customer satisfaction.

Communicate Effectively: Speak, listen, and write in a clear, thorough, and timely manner using appropriate and effective communication tools and techniques.

Foster Teamwork: Work cooperatively and effectively with others to complete tasks, resolve problems, and make decisions that enhance organizational effectiveness.

Document: Effectively document service activities through service records and call notes as required.

Make Decisions: Assess situations to determine the importance, urgency, and risks, and make clear decisions that are timely and in the best interest of LSPT and our Customers.

Organize: Set priorities, develop a work schedule, monitor progress towards goals, and track details, data, information, and activities.

Technical: Must be comfortable working on projects with unknown or unfamiliar technical content. Willingness and aptitude for learning new technology.

Required Education/Experience and Qualifications:


  • Associates Degree in a Technical Field and 1-3 years of experience

  • Equivalent military or additional work experience will be considered

  • Proficient in Microsoft software including Powerpoint, Word, Excel

  • Able to travel internationally with up to 80% time on the road

  • Demonstrated experience interfacing with both external and internal customers

  • Fluent in verbal and written English

  • Able to lift 50 pounds

  • Must hold a valid driver’s license


Preferred Education/Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Technical Field

  • 3+ years of experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electromechanical, and/or electronic equipment

  • PLC troubleshooting experience (Beckhoff experience a plus)

  • Robotic programming experience

  • Laser/optical experience

  • Willingness to reside in Asia for extended periods

  • Fluent in verbal Mandarin
